Airds farm & the 70 acres remaining of the original Lands of Airds were purchased in 1997 by Alan & Tricia Keith with the intention of continuing to operate the house as a guesthouse and the attached cottage as a self-catering unit. Now in our eighth year of operations, Airds continues as a successful operation, with hundreds of guests having enjoyed the experience of spending a holiday here and often returning again and again. Improvements have been carried out to much of the infrastructure, to consolidate the business for the future, with replacement and upgrading of water supply, drainage and electrical and heating systems. Building work to update and extend Airds is now virtually complete, providing additional accommodation for your hosts. The extension added at the east end of the house has been carried out in a manner that retains the style and character of the old Galloway building. The work was designed and has been substantially constructed by the owner, with professional assistance only for upper storey masonry and roof construction. Work to extend and improve the gardens is being carried out currently. We have also applied for acceptance into a Rural Stewardship scheme (RSS) that is designed to promote wildlife by improving environments. This scheme replaces the ESA scheme due to expire next spring. This page is provided for information and interest to visitors to the AIRDS FARM GUESTHOUSE WEBSITE.
