Pip, Maggie & Tia enjoy the company of Quad & PeanutTwo new additions to the Airds menagerie are our young cats, Quad & Peanut, seen here in company of our canine team.  As you can see, they do seem to all get on together, though the dogs view their feline companions with some suspicion.

Border collie bitches, Zoe, Pip & Tia at Airds FarmIf you love dogs, you will be delighted by our two border collies, Pip & Tia.  born  February 1999, to our original collie bitch, Zoe, (shown centre in the photo here) now sadly passed on.   Both dogs, although each of highly differing character, are friendly and affectionate to visitors and are safe with children.   The border collie is arguably the most highly intelligent breed of the species and through years of breeding, usually have an instinctive desire to herd.   Of the two, Pip shows the highest degree of herding ability and cannot resist herding our hens and ducks at any opportunity

Maggie, another failed sheepdog, has been with us now for several years.   Larger and more long-haired than our two other bitches, Maggie is a great character, full of life and just waiting to make your acquaintance, and, by the way, she does enjoy mud.

Our latest addition, Mey, came to us from Bellymac Farm in February 2008

Khaki Campbell, Muscovy and Indian Runner ducks at Airds Farm

Our duck collection currently numbers .  One Khaki Campbell, one call duck, several runner ducks & one Muscovy duck.    The large Aylesbury duck shown here chose to fly to freedom one day and has not been seen since.   We wish him well.  Housed in a large pen to protect against foxes at night, they are occasionally allowed to wander during the day.   Two hens has also taken to co-habiting with them in preference to her peers.

We have 8 hens currently providing fresh eggs for our guestst.
