John Glover Born in Scotland in 1945, John Glover studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1963 - 1967, then at Jordanhill College of Further Education from 1967 - 1968. He obtained his B.A. from the Open University in 1992. John has worked freelance as a book and magazine illustrator for publishers such as Evans Bros., Hamlyn's, Macmillan's and Oxford University Press and on advertising material for Johnny Walker and the Automobile Association. From 1980 he has concentrated mainly on portrait and landscape painting John has exhibited regularly at the following :- The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition The Royal Society of Marine Artists The Royal Institute of Oil Painters The Pastel Society
He has also had several one-man exhibitions. In 1982 he had a portrait hung in the National Portrait Gallery as part of the Imperial Tobacco Award. In 1982 he was elected a member of the Contemporary Portrait Society. Some examples of his work are shown below.
