The House

The farmhouse of Airds is furnished with many items of interest, including family pieces such as this carved hallstand dated 1919.   Made by Alan's great grandfather, Alfred Edward Gregory, a teacher at St Georges school at Harpenden at the time, the piece is unusual in the fact that the tools used to carve the detail have also survived.
